Bachelors degree UC Los Angeles

My name is Obiageli , however, I go by Oby for short. I am 22 years old, from Pittsburg, California, and a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in World Art and Cultures Dance and Global Health. I am currently a student at Community-Based Education and Development College in Los Angeles, and I am currently on the road to becoming a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. As a sonographer, I plan to specialize in the Obstetrics and Gynecology field in hopes of working in the early developmental stages of natal care.  If I could use four words to describe myself they would definitely be understanding, empathetic, perseverant, and kind.

I began my experience with child care back in 2016 when I worked in a preschool class as a part of receiving my ROP certification in Child Psychology. I then went on to work at a childcare center in 2017 where I had the opportunity to care for children eight months to 11 years old. After that I began college, therefore, I had to take on a childcare position that was more flexible. As a result, I began sitting for a family of five children with two newborn twins, a three-year-old, a five-year-old, and an eight-year-old. This position was absolutely perfect and honestly one of the highlights of my life. This was because I really had the opportunity to care for children of different ages, with different interests, and build a relationship with them. When I moved from the Bay Area to Los Angeles I was no longer able to care for this family, however, my love for taking care of children still remains. Currently, I work as a behavior therapist where I have the opportunity to support bright children with Autism ages 3-4.

I am excited to have the opportunity to apply for this position. I have worked as a helping hand for busy parents and their children for over ten years, my experience in childcare and household management has directly improved the day-to-day life of the families I have worked for, and have impeccable references. As a nanny, I have years of experience caring for children of all ages, from 2 months to 16 years old. In my previous role as daytime nanny to a busy family of five children, I learned how difficult it can be to manage the varying needs of children in diverse stages of development. I honed the ability to care for each child individually, while paying close attention to the needs of the group.

I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for the children in my care. As a camp counselor for two summers at a camp for underprivileged children, I provided weekly chess lessons geared towards children in the 7-10 age group. Watching the children learn how to play together is a uniquely rewarding experience I'll always remember. I'm confident that I would make a positive impact as part of your household as well.  Keeping children happy and safe is my number one priority. I keep them under a watchful eye and always make certain they avoid dangerous situations. I am good at helping them follow rules and encourage them to clean up after themselves while I help them do so.I prepare good-tasting meals for children and take into account all dietary requests and requirements. I make certain children follow set schedules and take naps so they are well-rested. If allowed by the family, I schedule fun outings to parks, gardens, zoos and museums so the children can see their community and all it has to offer them. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be considered for the position, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

My name is Adelaide (Addie) and I am currently studying at Occidental College to get my Bachelors in English with a minor in Politics. I have been babysitting and working with children for the past six years. In high school, I worked with two volunteer organizations, Girls on the Run and Heart of Passion. Through Girls on the Run, I helped teach young girls about healthy eating, healthy relationships, and ways to take care of their bodies in ways other than exercise. In my time volunteering with Heart of Passion, I fundraised, planned, and worked at the event for teens with cancer. By volunteering with this organization, I gained experience in organization, management, and the ability to bond with those going through things that differ from my own experience. I have a passion for learning and understand the struggles and difficulties that come with online school because I am also going through it. The understanding I have gained from doing online school myself allows me to connect with children and come up with strategies to still learn in this difficult environment. In my free time I love to read, listen to music, needlepoint, and knit.
