My name is Obiageli , however, I go by Oby for short. I am 22 years old, from Pittsburg, California, and a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in World Art and Cultures Dance and Global Health. I am currently a student at Community-Based Education and Development College in Los Angeles, and I am currently on the road to becoming a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. As a sonographer, I plan to specialize in the Obstetrics and Gynecology field in hopes of working in the early developmental stages of natal care.  If I could use four words to describe myself they would definitely be understanding, empathetic, perseverant, and kind.

I began my experience with child care back in 2016 when I worked in a preschool class as a part of receiving my ROP certification in Child Psychology. I then went on to work at a childcare center in 2017 where I had the opportunity to care for children eight months to 11 years old. After that I began college, therefore, I had to take on a childcare position that was more flexible. As a result, I began sitting for a family of five children with two newborn twins, a three-year-old, a five-year-old, and an eight-year-old. This position was absolutely perfect and honestly one of the highlights of my life. This was because I really had the opportunity to care for children of different ages, with different interests, and build a relationship with them. When I moved from the Bay Area to Los Angeles I was no longer able to care for this family, however, my love for taking care of children still remains. Currently, I work as a behavior therapist where I have the opportunity to support bright children with Autism ages 3-4.

I keep them under a watchful eye and always make certain they avoid dangerous situations. I am good at helping them follow rules and encourage them to clean up after themselves while I help them do so.I prepare good-tasting meals for children and take into account all dietary requests and requirements. I make certain children follow set schedules and take naps so they are well-rested. If allowed by the family, I schedule fun outings to parks, gardens, zoos and museums so the children can see their community and all it has to offer them. I have developed curriculums/lesson plans for preschoolers through middle schoolers. Some of the topics include: exercise, personal hygiene, dental practice and care, caring care of one’s body, healthy snacks, yoga, writing papers, studying effectively and retaining knowledge.  In addition, I work with students understanding their school studies, especially reading, writing, science, math, and P.E. focusing on processing the information and understanding the content of studies. Emphasis on understanding instructions and process with confidence on assignments. I have identified barriers in learning and created an a process to make the experience enjoyable.  I have created valuable opportunities in time management, self -confidence and tackling new assignments with ease. I can provide academic counseling for students interested in attending college. Also, one is never too young to create a track their accomplishments with a resume! My name is Vanessa and I have taught middle school Language Arts and Math at an extracurricular weekend and summer camp. I've been an assistant teacher for a private preschool as well as a permanent substitute teacher for a montessori preschool program. I've also been a full-time substitute teacher for the public school system for all grades. I've been a full-time nanny and part-time babysitter and held after school program teacher positions for schools. Since the age of 6 I've participated in the nurturing, caring and educational influence of children since I am the middle of 8 children with a host of nieces and nephews and Godchildren. My Sociology degree with a concentration in Psychology assists with the implementation of social and cultural themes of education and life in general. My name is Adelaide (Addie) and I am currently studying at Occidental College to get my Bachelors in English with a minor in Politics. I have been babysitting and working with children for the past six years. In high school, I worked with two volunteer organizations, Girls on the Run and Heart of Passion. Through Girls on the Run, I helped teach young girls about healthy eating, healthy relationships, and ways to take care of their bodies in ways other than exercise. In my time volunteering with Heart of Passion, I fundraised, planned, and worked at the event for teens with cancer.
